Abstract
The art of passing information in a manner that the very existence of the message is unknown is known as steganography. The detection of stegano-graphically encoded packages is called steganalysis. In this paper a novel steganographic technique using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for transmitting pictures is proposed. Two different techniques are proposed one using three level wavelet decomposition taking a single plane of the cover image for embedding and processing the image as 4 × 4 blocks with swapping and another using single level wavelet decomposition. Experiments show that Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR) generated by the proposed method is better than those generated by the existing schemes.
