Abstract :
In this paper, a novel solution for security constrained optimal power flow (SCOPF) problem with interline power flow controller (IPFC) is presented. The proposed algorithm is known as intelligent search evolution algorithm (ISEA). In the proposed algorithm, a two step initialization process have been adopted, the mutation operation is not used and also it gives optimal solution with less number of generations which results in the reduction of the computation time. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated for a standard IEEE 30-bus system without and with IPFC. The results reveal better solution and computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm with IPFC than without IPFC.
