Abstract :
This Paper deals with the Zero current transition technique, which provides Zero current switching turn off of the main switch and auxiliary switch without additional Conduction loss and current stress. The auxiliary cell consists of switch, a auxiliary diode, a resonant inductor, a resonant capacitor. The auxiliary cell is an parallel with the main switch. The zero current switching condition of the main switch and the auxiliary switch of the proposed converter are achieved by operating the auxiliary cell. In addition, the resonant inductor of the proposed cell helps soft burn on of the main switch. The auxiliary cell with be active only during the turn on and turn off of the main switch. The reverse recovery current of the diode avoids the additional current stress of the main switch. This technique adopts pulse width modulation control, which reverts back to the switched mode operation when transition is over. The simulation results agree with the theoretical waveform. The efficiency of the converter with the proposed cell is found to be 96%.
