Abstract :
A commercial purity Aluminum was prepared through powder metallurgy technique and deformed by extrusion at 560°C and then subjected to recrystallization treatment at the temperature of 600°C with varied time intervals to follow the kinetics of recrystallization. The samples obtained were examined for the metallurgical structure and then photomicrography was carried out. The results obtained from the recrystallization studies were followed by image analysis technique, which clearly indicates that the rate of the volume fractions of grain increases with time. The kinetics of recrystallization follow JMAK (Johnson-Mehl-Avrami-Kolmogorov) relation with the grain growth index (n) of 0.48. The low value of n can be attributed to the purity of Aluminum and experimental constraints.
