Abstract
Integrated water resources planning is a systematic approach for the sustainable development and allocation of water resource. The present study has been carried out in the Beda River basin of Madhya Pradesh, which is a sub basin of Narmada River. In this study water resource project development has been suggested in an integrated way in order to facilitate development of the region in economic but resourceful way using ArcGIS software. Different alternative plans have been suggested for the study area, clubbed with different parameters. This finding suggests that water resources development will have to be planned for a hydrological unit such as drainage basin as a whole or for a sub-basin. The result of the integrated water resource plan indicates that the optimum utilization of available water in the basin area with the projected increase in urbanization and associated increase in domestic water demand with increase in irrigation water demand.
