Abstract
Induction Linear accelerator “ETIGO-III” (8 MV, 5 kA, 30 ns) is a intense, pulsed, relativistic-electron-beam (IREB) generator designed for applications in material science, high-power microwave generation, pulsed X-ray emission and environmental studies. It consists of four acceleration units, each of them applies a pulsed voltage of 2 MV on the IREB. The IREB is guided by a magnetic field through the four units so that the electron kinetic energy reaches 8 MeV. The time-resolved, spatial distribution of the IREB has been measured by using a Faraday cup with mask electrode. The maximum IREB current density of ∼ 140 A/cm2 is obtained. The kinetic energy of IREB has been also measured by a magnetically deflection method. The kinetic energy of IREB is estimated to be up to ∼ 7 MeV.
