Abstract :
This paper describes an all solid-state switched pulser for the application of automotive exhaust gas purification. By using the 24V battery as input energy source, the proposed pulser could produce 10kV, 200A, 100ns pulses at repetition rates up to 20kHz and it is composed of a high efficient DC-DC converter and several pulse generating modules which are connected in series to obtain higher pulse voltage. Each pulse generating module contains MOSFETs, energy storage capacitor and pulse transformer. In this paper, we compared two kinds of circuit topology for DC-DC converter of the pulser and suggested over-voltage and over-current protections of pulser for the reliable operation. Experimental results show that the proposed pulser is very efficient in air pollution control application.
