Abstract
Kurchatov Institute has recently developed novel high impedance plasma opening switches. They are capable of producing high voltage multiplication coefficient and can operate in repetitive mode. The paper studies a conduction phase physics for a high-impedance POS. Results of non-linear magnetic field and current penetration are reported. Ohmic and inductive resistance dynamics and corresponding energy losses were determined to improve a contemporary viewpoint on Hall scenario in the pulsed plasma with current.
