Abstract :
Experimental production of shock waves with pressure magnitude in shock wave front up to 3 Mbar in plane lead targets under action of soft X-ray flux with power density up to 4*1012 W/cm2 is under investigation. Soft X-ray source was produced by fast Z-pinch implosion of plasma of the hollow cylindrical loads. Brightness temperature of produced soft X-ray source was varied in range 50 – 85 eV. The soft X-ray pulse duration was changed in range 6 – 20 ns. Shock waves were excited in plane sample layers with thickness 200–400 µm. Spectral brightness of light emission from rear surface side of plane substance layer irradiated by soft X-ray flux from front surface side was recorded by the two-channel visible range pyrometer to measure color temperature during shock wave exit at rear side of substance free surface. Possible initial density changes during experiment as result of preheat due to influence of electron beam, strong magnetic field, and the precursor prepinch generation which are attendant to fast current implosion process were taken into account.
