Abstract :
The excitation of a slow electromagnetic wave by high-current relativistic electron beam (IREB) at its propagating in a periodic magnetic field is theoretically investigated. The beam current is modulated in time. Because of propagation of electron beam in periodic magnetic field its surface is modulated in the longitudinal direction. Expressions for amplitude of the accelerating electric field are obtained. Amplitude dependence on parameters of a electron beam (depth of spatial and of temporary modulation, period of modulation) is investigated. The radial structure of longitudinal component of an electromagnetic field of slow wave and a possibility of acceleration of ions in a field of the excited wave is analyzed.
