Abstract :
In order to increase the achieved before bremsstrahlung dose rate (~ 7·1012 rad/s) of a 36-module linear accelerator LIA-30 functioning in the mode of electron beam focusing, the installed in the injector cathode with emitter diameters of 60 and 150 mm was lengthened by 630 mm to increase injection energy and current of the beam. To decrease internal diameter of electron flux the second annular cathode 250 mm in diameter installed in the 15th module was disassembled. The program of time synchronization of accelerating modules turn-on aimed for increasing maximal beam current was optimized. As a result there were obtained radiation dose rate of ~ 1.5·1013 and dose of 240 krad (TLD) in a spot of 100 cm2 area with irradiation inhomogeneity of 50 % at radiation pulse duration τ1/2≈ 16 ns.
