The paper gives a brief review of formulas needed to calculate breakdown strength of electric field purified of mechanical particles of deionized and degassed water depending on: system of electrodes (homogeneous field, coaxial electrodes, spike-surface, blade-surface etc.); duration amplitudes and shapes of applied voltage pulse; electrodes area; thickness of water layer etc.
