Abstract :
As it was established in [1, 2] at Z-pinch currents up to 3 MA flowing through profiled heterogeneous loads, a high temperature plasma of less than 100 μm size is formed. The formation of high density (ne=1022 cm-3), hot (Te=1-2 keV, Ti=3-13 keV) plasma was accompanied by the appearance of neutron and also by soft and hard X-ray radiation [3]. It was shown in [2] that plasma formation process in the central part of a load is occurring for a long time corresponding to a current´s rise time. In the present work, in order to find out the particular features of plasma formation process in the heterogeneous load´s neck, the plasma formation dynamics in a Z-pinch constriction and neutron and X-ray radiation pulses appearance in time were measured simultaneously.
