Abstract :
The recent earthquake and tsunami in the north eastern part of Japan caused enormous loss of property and human life. Korea is not a safety zone anymore because it has lots of fault structures that have weak crusts in the aspect of geological structure and because of the recent tendency of rapid increase of small-scale earthquake rather than historical earthquake. Especially, Korea is located in the geological location where it could be affected a lot by the earthquakes occurred in neighboring countries. This study presents the necessity of the warning and situation report system for earthquake and tsunami as suggesting the real time warning and situation transmission system in which users not only receive the warning, but also share opinions and information about the situation report in real time by using SNS and GPS on smart phones to minimize the damage.
