Abstract :
In this letter, a novel miniaturized complementary two turns Spiral Resonator (CSR2s) structure is proposed to improve notch performance of the UWB antenna. As a result of the miniaturized characteristic of the CSR2s, the multiple CSR2s are loaded in the UWB antenna. Therefore, the multiple resonant modes generated by the relevant multiple CSR2s can increase the notch bandwidth and sharpen rejection skirt performances of the notch frequency. We assess the filtering action of structures from two aspects: the return loss and the radiation level in the far field. The sensitivity of the notch frequency to antenna parameters is also investigated. The measured and simulated results are well complied with each other.
