Abstract
A novel ridged substrate integrated waveguide bandpass filter for ultra-wideband application was proposed and designed in the paper. The bandpass filter was made up of ridged cavity resonators coupled by sections of stripline on the substrate in evanescent waveguide. In order to get ultra-wideband frequency responses, ridged substrate integrated waveguide structure and lower permittivity substrate were used. With the help of electromagnetic simulation software, the bandpass filter was designed. The designed results show that the -10dB return loss bandwidth of the bandpass filter is from 3.3GHz to10.7GHz, and good transmission frequency response is also obtained. The bandpass filter has lower loss, suits to be used in the ultrawideband integrated circuits.
