Abstract
This paper presents comparison of methods, which can be used to determine surface current on metal objects in free space and in layered media problems. Integral equations method (IE) with the method-of-moments (MoM) is used to calculate the current induced on the metal plate over grounded substrate. Presented methods can be applied to electrically large objects, where linear equations contain a large number of unknowns (tens of thousands or hundreds). To speed up solution the low rank IE-QR algorithm can be involved. Results obtained by MoM, and low rank IE-QR are given and compared with calculations done by other authors.
