Abstract
This paper is about the concepts of reliability and reliability indices for different levels of researches in reliability and their effectiveness. Additionally, the effects of different parameters of reliability indices of wind farms and their effectiveness on reliability indices of distribution grids, according to previous simulations, are analyzed and evaluated. The results of this study illustrate that increase in number of windy regions and generation capacitance of electricity due to wind energy affect reliability indices of wind plants in a good way. Also, by saving the produced energy by wind plants, reliability indices can be improved except the time when there is load peak. Using wind farms as a backup feeder can improve SAIDI and CAIDI indices while has a negative effect on SAIFI index. But, using wind farms as a second feeder for distribution grids, in such a way that transfer produced energy to the grids in every single moment, all reliability indices can be improved significantly.
