Abstract :
The founding concept of COIN began in 2001 to optimally handle the exploding Internet traffic by means of evolving optical network technologies, and leaded to a new international conference hosted annually in turn by Korea, Australia, Japan, and China. After 10 years, friendship and cooperation among our community have grown in full blossom by observing vertical convergence of optical network technology and broadband Internet services. However the true convergence together with many fascinating applications is yet to come.
