  • Abstract
This paper presents the Unit Commitment (UC) problem of thermal units considering Time-of-Use (TOU) Program. The optimal schedule minimizes the generation cost during the study period while satisfying load demand, spinning reserve requirements, and the physical operational constraints of units. In this paper, the UC with TOU problem as a nonlinear and non convex problem is solved using the Simulated Annealing (SA) method. In this regard, the effect of intelligent implementing of TOU on decreasing the cost of UC has been studied. It is shown that irrational implementing of TOU could result in increasing the cost of problem. Numerical studies show a significant improvement in the results of the problem.
