  • Abstract
In this paper a new double tuned PI-R based current controller has been used for effectively mitigating the most significant and troublesome harmonic current of grid side in DFIG system. One part is tuned at 6ωs and the other is tuned at 12ωs which are responsible for mitigating 5th, 7th and 11th, 13th order harmonic components respectively. Mitigation method is applied to the rotor side converter whereby controls the fundamental and harmonic current components simultaneously, so that fundamentals are used for decoupled active and reactive power control and harmonics for enhancing power quality. The controller performance is investigated by simulation in Simulink-SimPower environement and compared to the conventional PI controller. The results confirm the controller prominent features, tracking ac contained refrences and mitigation capabilities.
