Abstract :
A 12-Pulse Converter generally uses a phase-shifting transformer to get two sets of three-phase voltages, but the magnitude of the line current harmonic is too high. In this paper, a new type of 12-Pulse Converter featuring a rotating magnetic field transformer is presented. The design is based on the rationale of the induction machine, which can effectively reduce the line current harmonic and improve the power quality of the converter´s DC output voltage.
