Abstract :
This paper introduces an impedance measurement system that can be performed non-destructively to detect cellular toxicity with a cell culture system. This study examines ECV304 cells grown in culture well and exposed to toxicant dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO). The spectra output from the impendence analyzer can visualize the difference between the cellular responds at low and high concentration of DMSO challenge. In order to further process and compare the cellular behavior challenged at three concentrations of DMSO, an equivalent circuit model based on the electrode/insulator/solution interface is described. This paper also investigates Hilbert-Huang transformation (HHT), which is an adaptive analysis technique to non-linear and non-stationary signals. HHT spectra provide a measure of energy in the whole frequency range varies with different concentrations of toxicant.
