Abstract
Predictive route data are focused by many vehicle manufacturers. The possible information at this juncture is essential to evaluate complex scenarios in urban areas and allow - in combination with active safety systems - reduced probability of crash situations. The presentation illustrates the need of route data, evaluates possible application scenarios and describes technical risks shown by an example. The second key aspect of the presentation focuses on the challenges of responsibility, sourcing and cost distribution from the viewpoint of a vehicle manufacturer. Finally possible trends and perceivable possible fields of application will be identified.
