Abstract :
Though several models of sand simulation have been adopted, due to complexity of a granular system in general, their performance has been sacrificed for realistic visual effects. It mainly results in a high numerical computational cost involved in an accurate simulation of a granular system. This limits the usability of those models by not supporting real physics based real-time simulation. We use a continuum method to model sand as a continuous fluid and various approaches to complete a pressure projection. Our approach shows an average performance that was achieved after adopting a GPU programming.
