Performance evaluations of digital watermarking systems

A description of performance evaluation methods according to imperceptibility and robustness properties is presented in this paper. Imperceptibility can be determined either through human judgements or quantity measurements such as MSE and PSNR. Meanwhile, robustness can be measured either by using benchmarking tools or quantity measurements such as NC or SSIM index. In this paper, the proposed system was implemented and tested for its performance via subjective human visual assessments, Stirmark benchmarking tool for attacks and PSNR/SSIM index measurements for imperceptibility and robustness criteria.
