  • Abstract
    This paper analyzes the characteristic and limitation of ADS-B(Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast) and SSR(Secondary Surveillance Radar). A model and algorithm of the data fusion of ADS-B/SSR in civil aviation are proposed. The fusion model could provide a unique track for each aircraft with different avionics (with or without SSR transponder, or ADS-B avionics). As shown in the results verified by measured data, the use of ADS-B and SSR fusion can lead an important improvement in track accuracy, updating rate and an overall surveillance coverage from route to surface, while insuring the ATC surveillance system stable and reliable.
