Abstract :
The quench detection and protection of superconducting magnet is an important issue for the practicability of superconducting power technology. Based on the features of superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) hybrid magnet, a set of quench detection system has been designed for SMES hybrid magnet. In the system, an active power detection method has been used, and the quench signal produced on a superconducting hybrid magnet can be isolated, amplified, filtered and compared, to realize quench signal detection. The results show that the quench detection system can detect the quench signal in a timely and accurate manner, providing a reliable precondition for the quench protection of SMES hybrid magnet.
