Abstract
Low-pass filters process an image in the frequency domain to smooth the image and reduce the high frequency noise from it. Usually the transfer function H(u, v) are circularly symmetric. In this study various types of unsymmetrical transfer function H(u, v) filters are suggested and applied to smoothing (516×516) pixels noisy image. The results obtained from using these filters show better smoothing and higher signal to noise ratio as compared to the results obtained from the usual standard types.
