Abstract :
This paper is a corpus-based study comparing the expressions of agreement in English textbooks and in authentic English in order to improve the authenticity and practicality of the English textbooks used in China with the help of the corpus Voice. The paper intends to study and analyze the similarities and differences of expressions of agreement found in China´s textbooks and in corpus Voice. The results from the quantitative and qualitative analyses reveal that there are significant differences between English textbooks and authentic English in expressing agreement.
