Abstract
Knowledge sharing (KS) being a link between supply and demand for knowledge has the potential to lead organizations to sustainable competitive advantage (CA) by leveraging knowledge for the creation of new knowledge and innovations of new products and services. However, implementation of KS in most IHL of Malaysia has fall short of delivering these promises due to its misconception and lopsided implementation as a social or technology centric solution that lacks a working framework. Bearing this in mind, this work explores the critical success factors of KS and their interrelationship to propose a theoretical framework for collaborative KS to successfully deliver on its promise of enduring CA. The proposed framework when implemented has the potential to enhance KS process in IHL and enable IHL to attain a sustainable CA and the framework can also be adapted to other organizations other than educational sector.
