Abstract :
Voice coil motor (VCM) has faster dynamic response, higher-accuracy, so it is widely used in the field of high performance direct drive valve in recent years. The strategy of analog control is widely used, but it has many inherent shortcomings, such as temperature drift, inconvenience of implementing complex control algorithms, and disability of interfacing with other digital controller directly. In order to overcome the shortcomings for the analog methods and improve control accuracy and dynamic response of the control system, a kind of digital power driver controller for voice coil motor with nonlinear pulse width modulation technology is proposed in this paper. Experimental result suggests that the digital power driver controller has achieved high performance, and entirely meets the requirements of direct drive valve system. The use of the microcontroller can greatly simplify the system hardware structure, easily expend function and interface with other digital equipment.
