  • Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to provide reference for the design of more practical and efficient non-distributed flight reference(NDFR) symbology of helmet-mounted display(HMD) by comparing four kinds of attitude symbologys (include climb-dive angle and roll). The flight references were NDFR, NDFR-R (NDFR plus zero-degree Climb-Dive Angle CDA reference), NDFR-M (mini-arc NDFR) and ANDFR(Advanced NDFR). Eye tracking technology was used to evaluate the four symbol sets in this study. Static pictures of each symbol set were tested. Reaction time and reported value of information were collected for an analysis of variance(ANOVA). All the results demonstrate that NDFR-R is the best for determining the ownship status information in the four flight references.
