Abstract :
The performance evaluation techniques of the storage system are an indispensable part of the information storage technology. Nowadays they are less concerned about a specific application environment which cannot reflect the real application support. The reference value of test results is greatly reduced. We have developed a distributed I/O trace collection and playback system based the storage systems evaluation on real-world environments. The system can reproduce a variety of real-world environments on the storage system to measure how it can support in different applications and the performance. Finally, we test the distributed I/O trace collection and playback system. The main test module includes a file-level trace collection module, block-level trace collection module, file-level trace playback module, block-level trace playback module and the import trace module. We have proved the design rationality and the accuracy implementation of the overall system.
