Abstract
Any sliding contact system can be regarded as a tribological system. The behavior of a tribological system can be described in principle using a wear process curve. This study describes the wear process curve of a sliding electrical contact together with the electrical behavior using a carbon brush system as an example. Especially due to environmental changes, transitional states will occur and multiple steady wear stages can be observed.
