Abstract
Distributed generation - especially from renewable energy sources - poses new challenges, the most significant being voltage band violation during high infeed low-load times. This paper investigates the potential of direct voltage control by controllable distribution transformers (MV/LV transformer with on load tap-changer) and indirect control by means of power inverters featuring reactive power support.
