  • Abstract
    To provide the real-time application environment in the laboratory for the research of on-line analysis and control applications in EMS system, a simulation platform used for system-level closed-loop control experiment is proposed and realized based on RTDS and EMS in this paper. A protocol converter and a real-time data storage control generator are developed independently. Through the RTDS-GTNET digital interface, the platform supports bi-directional data flow between RTDS and EMS. A simple two-machine system is tested on the platform. The testing result shows the practical applicability of the platform. At the same time, as an application of the platform, through the control of the protocol converter and real-time data storage control generator, it is possible to simulate the inconsistency of real-time section sampling in different control center and provide conditions for the development of a practical distributed state estimation system in the laboratory.
