Abstract :
The supplementary excitation damping controller (SEDC) has been proven to be one of the most economical and convenient measures for damping of subsynchronous resonance (SSR). SEDC is a supplementary function of regular excitation system. It is necessary to verify the performance of SEDC equipment before field test. In this paper, a verification method and results of one practical SEDC equipment are introduced. Firstly, frequency characteristics of SEDC´s discrete mathematics model are tested by using dynamic signal analyzer. Then this paper uses real time digital simulator (RTDS) to build a series-compensated transmission system with real engineering background, and conducts time-domain simulation studies on performance of SEDC under disturbance.
