Abstract :
This report deals with the problems of design of long-pulse relativistic electron-beam (REB) injectors. Three types of REB injectors have been examined: quasi-Pierce-type diode EOS injector with spherical cathode, injector based EOS with ring cathode and electrostatic compressor, and at last, multi-jet triode type EOS injector. REB guns have been operated at accelerating voltages up to 400 kV, EB currents up to 250 A, pulse length about 250 mcsec without external magnetic fields. The investigations were accomplished during injectors development and exploitation with REB transportation in gas and plasma including regime of REB releasing into atmosphere.
