Abstract :
The res lilts of the theoretical and experimental researches of the interaction of high-intensity REBs with high density molecular gases, accomplished during last ten years in MRTI´s Departmel1l of Radiation Physic and Plasma-Beam Systems, are presented. The plasma-chemical models “PC-1” and “PC-2”, gas dynamics models and beam dynamics models (WALRUS and REBUS codes) are outlined. The new equilibrium configurations of REBs with current close to the Alfven limit are found. The stable and unstable configurations are found among the equilibrium considered, and the stability region is determined. The interaction of the 3 MeV, 10 kA REB with laser formed channel 1m long in air was studied as a function (if the time delay between the channel initiation and beam injection times.
