Abstract
Recently, in order to clean stack gases, the charged particle beams and gas discharge are applied. The cleaning method proposed uses the discharge in a heterogeneous gas- water mixture and has some advantages compared to traditional methods. They are: due to water dissociation the hydroxide ions and ozone densities increase, that leads to more effective oxidation of sulphur and nitrogen compounds; due to water drop formation the electric field strength in the discharge gap grows up resulting in higher gas ionization; in the heterogeneous gas- water mixture the effective removal of reaction products occurs. In this report the description of experimental setup, experimental results and their´ analysis is given. The reactor is fully automatized and allows to control key parameters of inlet and outlet gas and water flows: SO2 and NOx concentrations, gas and water temperature and flow velocity. The ´scaling of removal efficiency with different reactor parameters are presented.
