  • Abstract
    We report recent work on high power traveling wave tube amplifiers. The paper is focussed on eliminating the sidebands found in high power devices. Two approaches have been investigated; in the first a very low group velocity amplifier, in which the transit time of a wave through the structure is comparable to the pulse length, is used to isolate the input of the amplifier from its output. In the second approach we focus on the development of impedance matched side arm couplers.
