Abstract :
This paper presents a novel design of a small triple band patch antenna for WLAN applications. A substrate with dielectric constant 3.2 and height 3.175mm is used for the design. The patch dimensions (20×14mm) are similar to those of a conventional rectangular patch resonating at 5200 MHz which is the center frequency of the lowest frequency band. The antenna is fed by a 50 Ω coaxial cable. Genetic algorithm optimization is used to optimize the patch geometry and feed position. Simulations are carried out by using HFSS.
