Abstract :
As an extension to an earlier work, some features of the generation of a low-energy, high-current, electron beam in a plasma-anode gun placed in an external guide magnetic field have been investigated. The nonstationary stage of current extraction where the characteristic time required for an ion to pass through the double layer is analysed. The dynamics of relaxation of the beam energy in its transportation through the anode plasma toward the collector has been investigated.
