Abstract :
Based on voltage distribution and discriminant analysis, a novel algorithm is proposed in this paper. The fault voltage is used for the first location at the first. Then the real-time information of current and voltage provided by the wide area measurement system could be used for the second precise location according to the algorithm of Mahalanobis distance analysis. Through a case analysis, the speediness and validity is illustrated and it is suitable for on-line locating.
