Abstract
This paper focuses on the change in damping characteristics of interconnected bulk power grids before and after UHV extension project, and makes a check of the dominant oscillation mode by means of eigenvalue method and prony analysis method. Such two analysis methods are applied in the North and Central China interconnected grids which are linked through UHV line. The results show that frequency of mode ascends and damping ratio changes unconspicuously.
