Abstract :
Over-voltages happen when electric locomotive passes the articulated phase insulator, which causes substation tripping and has serious influence on safe operations of the overhead contact system and traction substations. This paper analyzes the mechanism of over-voltage generated and simulates the process of the electric locomotive passing the articulated phase insulator, put forward a scheme to avoid the production of over-voltages.
