Abstract :
The paper describes the new pulsed electron beam facility GESA developed for investigations in the field of pulsed heat treatment of materials and optimization of electron beam parameters. At present the electron beam has the following parameters: electron kinetic energy 50–150 keV; power density up to 2 MW/cm2 and energy density up to 50 J/cm2 at the target. The pulse duration is controllable with time increments of 1µs in the range from 5 to 40 µs. The beam diameter at the target is 67÷10 cm.
