  • Abstract
Optimization of shell parameters for further imploding in a Z-pinch has been done. The nozzle shape was selected with the help of two dimensional gas dynamics computer simulation. During the optimization the influence of the electrode configuration was taken into account. Two types of nozzle are presented. The advanced construction with three gaseous shells may use different gases. The other one is based on aluminium vapor jet. The designs were tested by interferometry. Resulting mass distributions are analyzed by real experiment and by means of 2D MHD computer simulations. New nozzles provides smaller zippering, higher radiation power and more reproductive results.
