Abstract :
A Manufacturing Execution System for Mass Customization (MESMC) is a rather important system to perform Mass Customization Manufacturing efficiently. In this paper, the characteristics of MESMC are analyzed, and “four aspects” of the characteristics are summed up, which are the diversity of Customization tasks, the changeability of manufacturing process, the feedback of information and the customer participation in manufacturing process. In order to meet the requirements of the “four aspects”, a new MES mode, Manufacturing Execution System based on Equipment Networked Operation (MES-ENO), is proposed, and an applicable architecture is constructed. A successful case study shows the MES-ENO is practical.
